Searching “how much does a skip bin cost” and getting nowhere but vague answers? Fair enough, it’s one of the most common questions we get. Here’s exactly what goes into your price, and what to expect, no fine print.
It comes down to two things: size and waste type
Your price is based on skip size and waste type, and that’s it. No sneaky add-ons, no different pricing depending on which suburb you’re in. Whether you’re in the Sutherland Shire, St George, Bankstown or the Eastern Suburbs, the price for the same size skip and waste type is the same. GST is included, so the number you see is the number you pay.
What’s actually included in that price
A few things are bundled straight into your flat rate, no extra line items:
- 14 days of hire, built into every booking, plenty of time to get through a renovation, cleanout or building job.
- Tipping and disposal fees. We cover this side of things so it’s not something you need to price separately.
- No weight limit. Fill it up (safely, to the fill line) and that’s covered: no weighbridge surprises after pickup.
The one thing that’s on you: council permits
If your skip is going on your own driveway or property, you generally won’t need to worry about a permit at all. If it needs to sit on the road or footpath, a council permit applies, and that cost sits with the customer rather than being bundled into the skip price. The bit most people don’t expect: no weight limits, no overfill fees
A lot of skip companies charge extra if your bin ends up heavier than they’d like. We don’t; that’s the deal above. If a bin does end up filled above the safety line, we’ll simply ask for the excess to come back down to the line before we collect it, rather than charging a penalty on top. And if the job runs longer than expected and you need the bin past the standard 14 days, just call us before it’s due back and we’ll arrange an extension.
